Thanks to the tremendous success of the DVDs and various online petitions, Fox couldn’t help but notice how the fans craved more of the hilarious animated sitcom. To the fans delight Fox responded by bringing back the one and only Family Guy. The series is chock full of slpastick humor and basically any other kind of humor you could ask for. It is slated to return in 2005, however, I do not know what month. The voices have been recorded for the first 13 episodes. And the list as is follows…
#4ACX01 - North by North Quahog
#4ACX02 - Fast Times at Buddy Cianci High
#4ACX03 - Don't Make Me Over
#4ACX04 - Blind Ambition
#4ACX05 - Stewie B. In the American League we have Red Sox vs. Angels and Yankees vs. Twins. In the National League it's Dodgers vs. Cardinals and Braves vs. Astros. I think the Braves are one of the best stories this year. After losing big name players and a decimated pitching rotation, they were not even given a shot at a wild card spot... much less a division title. I mean the Braves did have to beat the revamped Phillies and the defending champion Marlins... oh and the Mets. But they somehow managed to catch fire after a slow start. Being from Atlanta I'm obviously going to root for the Braves, but they have really shown me something this year. They may have won their division 13 times in a row, yet they only have one World Series victory to show for it. This year, however, it seems to be different… finally playing the role of true underdogs destined for greatness. We must wait and see. As far as the AL goes all I can say is “Go Sox!” I’ve always despised the Yankees and this year is no exception, I want to see Jeter, A-Rod, Williams, and even Matsui suffer. Although I wouldn’t mind seeing the Twins do well. Michael Cuddyer is a rising star on the Twins. He went to my High School and his parents live in my neighborhood, so it would be really cool to see him do well, but I’m still pulling for the Sox.
See you at the ballpark…

Hold My Heart...

"The Bridge" by Letter Kills is by far one of the best CD's of the year. My interest in the band was first sparked at a previous concert that they played in support of Story of the Year. Their live show was great and I remembered them saying that their debut CD came out July 27th (along with Taking Back Sunday). I heard a few of their songs online and didn't really think much about them until I went to Best Buy to buy the Taking Back Sunday cd and I suddenly realized that Letter Kills CD was also released. So I picked it up for only 7 bucks and the rest is history. They flawlessly seam together classic rock and pop punk with a little screaming here and there and some wicked solos. This CD is very high energy as it starts out with "Lights Out" and this frantic energy continues for all but two tracks titled "Hold My Heart Pt. 2" and "Hold My Heart Pt. 1", both exceptional slower songs with still a great deal of energy; "...Pt. 1" being my favorite song. Letter Kills is once again on tour with Story of the Year and are coming to Norfolk on November 4th. If you are a fan of music you should buy this album or I will fight you.
See you at the show (if you haven't noticed I put something dumb like this at the end of each post)...

Whatever I feel like I wanna do...

If you have not seen the movie "Napoleon Dynamite" then you are missing out. Not only is it one of the funniest movies ever made... it uses good clean comedy which gives it the PG rating. Warning... You may not want to read this if you plan on seeing the movie, although I'm not really giving away the hilarious scenes or ending. Napoleon Dynamite is not your average nerd. He lives with his Grandma, his brother Kip, and his llama Tina. Napoleon goes to Preston High, which seems to be a little behind the times. Napoleon meets Pedro who turns out to be his best friend. After his grandma breaks her hip in an off-road accident, Napoleon's Uncle Rico moves in to take care of the boys and hilarity ensues. Napoleon must keep from getting embarrassed by his uncle, help Rico run for class president, find a date to the dance, and practice his dance moves. Some people may see this movie as dumb humor and not understand the movie, but that's the best part. There are no confusing plot twists or multiple storylines. It's just a funny movie about a guy. So hopefully the dollar theater will pick it up and I will be able to see it for the third time.
See you at the theater...

The NHL lockout...

So another hockey season is upon us... or is it? Well the AHL season is set to start and should be an exciting season, while the NHL remains in a lockout. The latest collective bargaining has ended and the players and coaches will not agree. It honestly makes me mad that the players will not accept being paid less. Obviously I've never been in their shoes, but I don't think anyone really needs to make over one million dollars a year. The NHL is not the most popular sport in the United States and I'm not saying that it should be... but having so many teams based in the US (only 6 teams based in Canada) is not good for the sport. If the NHL could do anything to increase the fan base in the US then I'm all for it, but a lockout is certainly not the answer. I believe the players should be willing to take a pay cut and the NHL should get rid of 4 US teams, minimum, to help solve the problem. There's much more to it than that, but from a fan's perspective all I want to see is more hockey.

As far as the AHL goes I believe we are in for some good hockey this season. Not only are they actually having a season, but they are implementing some new rule changes. Rules like: instituting no-touch icing and tag-up offsides; increasing the size of the neutral zone by moving the goal line back two feet toward the boards and widening the blue lines and center red line; and restricting the maximum width of goaltenders' pads from 12 inches to 10. Also added is the fan favorite shootout after a scoreless overtime period. I think these rules will help open up the game play and increase the speed of play, maybe increasing the amount of goals scored. This should make for an exciting cheap season.
I'll see you at the rink...

This is my welcome message...

Hello all... my name is Matt although I write under the psuedonym, Chip Whitley.
